Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
Each Canadian province and territory (except Nunavut and Quebec) has its own unique Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
Each PNP has at least one immigration stream that aligns with the federal Express Entry immigration selection system. That makes PNP a popular supplementary programme to the federal immigration stream.
These PNPs allow Canadian provinces and territories to nominate/select individuals whom the province believes a shortage of that specific talent to support their workforce. PNPs also enable people to wish to immigrate to Canada and settle in a particular province of choice. That’s a win-win immigration pathway for both province and potential immigrants.
Provincial nominations issued under these Express Entry-aligned streams are known as ‘enhanced nominations’ and award Express Entry candidates an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points.
